LawHelp Mobile

LawHelp Mobile

The LawHelp mobile site offers a simplified version of the desktop site that provides mobile users with quick and direct access to resources and legal help referrals. Users can quickly move through topic and subtopic pages and arrive at a list of resources. Upon selecting a resource, users can either view the content or email it to themselves so they can read it later on a computer.

As they can on the desktop site, users can also search for legal help in their area by entering their zip code and selecting a legal topic and subtopic. Similarly to the resource page, the user can either read more about the organization or email themselves a link to the information so they can read it later on a computer. Providers can also ask for a "Call Back" button that will send a message requesting that the organization call the cell phone user.

In 2014, through an LSC Technology Innovation Grant with Legal Assistance of Western New York and LawHelpNY we were able to expand the mobile site's capacity in several key areas.  The mobile site will be available in both Spanish and English, allowing Spanish users the ability to navigate through the site in their own language.  They will also be able to see content in Spanish on the mobile platform.  We are also engaged in a pilot project to bring LiveHelp to mobile users, allowing users to work with a LiveHelp Information Specialist via text on their phone.
