Job Description:
Mississippi Center for Justice seeks current 3L law students or recent graduates interested in working with us to develop fellowship applications such as those offered by Skadden, Equal Justice Works, New Voices, and other law school-based fellowship opportunities. MCJ is especially interested in developing projects having to do with community economic development and/or environmental justice on the Gulf Coast; consumer protection issues in Jackson; educational advocacy in the Mississippi Delta and/or food policy issues. MCJ currently has offices in both Jackson and Biloxi where we work on racial and economic justice (including predatory lending, child care, healthcare), housing and education issues. A third office in Indianola, Mississippi will be opened before the end of 2011. More information about MCJ can be found at: www.mscenterforjustice.org.
 

Qualifications
Law student or recent graduate.


Salary
Based on fellowship award amount.


Application Instructions: For fellowship applications due in September (e.g., Equal Justice Works Fellowships and Skadden Fellowships), please submit letters of interest and a resume no later than August 10, 2011 to the contact person below by e-mail.


Interest in submitting applications to funders with later deadlines should be submitted no later than 1 month prior to that funder's deadline. However, expressions of interest to MCJ about any externally-funded positions are strongly encouraged as early as possible. We look forward to hearing from people interested in working for racial and economic justice in the Deep South.
