The ABA Death Penalty Representation Project, in joint with Karen Gottlieb from FIU Law's Florida Center for Capital Representation, will be providing an in depth training and look into the consequential Hurst v. Florida decision, which found Florida's capital sentencing scheme unconstitutional.

We will be discussing the historical and legal context of the case, the current status of Florida's death penalty protocol, and will be providing a basic preliminary training for those potentially interested in contributing with pro bono representation to Florida's more than 180 death row prisoners who will receive new re-sentencing trials.

In closing, we will provide brief descriptions of the current cases and death-row prisoners in need of pro bono representation.
