The National Campaign to Restore Civil Rights (NCRCR) seeks to address the rollback of civil rights in the federal courts. Toward this end, NCRCR generates independent research and analysis on relevant topics, and, when a case presents an issue that is core to the Campaign, co-authors briefs of amicus curaie, or friend of the court briefs. A friend of the court brief is a court document that can be filed by individuals, governments, and/or groups that are not directly involved in the case before the court. These briefs often provide information that can be useful for the judge evaluating the case. They can also contribute academic evaluations of various matters related to a case.
