UNFAIR JUDICIAL OPINIONS

A court refused to let a college student take her case to court, even though her soccer coach sexually harrassed members of her team on a daily basis.

A divided court didn't allow almost a million and a half "low income, impoverished, and disadvantaged African-Americans" any way to address decades of racial injustice. For almost 100 years, Jefferson-Pilot, an insurance company, charged African-Americans more than whites for low-value life-insurance policies.

A Florida girl who receives Medicaid and has severe disabilities couldn't get a court to help her get a wheelchair—even though her doctors say its a necessity. The judge based his decision on an earlier case that has drastically limited the ability of people—especially low-income people—to enforce federal rights.

Alliance for Justice has worked for more than two decades, raising public awareness about the importance of the federal judiciary. Its Full Court Press offers regularly updated facts and opinions about "the rapidly increasing number of judicial opinions that unjustifiably restrict rights, undermine legal protections, and adversely affect real people."
