Pro Bono Net to Receive 2010 InnovAction Award

On August 26th, The College of Law Practice Management announced that the 2010 InnovAction Award goes to none other than Pro Bono Net.

For six years now, the InnovAction Awards have recognized innovation in the delivery of legal services.   The purpose of the InnovAction Awards is to show the legal community what exactly can be achieved when passionate professionals with big ideas resolve to create effective change.

This year, Pro Bono Net was chosen for LawHelp Interactive. LawHelp Interactive serves to provide a national infrastructure for online legal document assembly and aids tens of thousands of low-income people every year to complete much-needed legal documents.

Launching in 2005, LawHelp Interactive receives support from the Legal Services Corporation and was used last year to finish a near 150,000 civil court forms in the areas of child support, protection orders for domestic violence victims, consumer debt and eviction. LawHelp Interactive is recognized for their efficiency in helping attorneys to spend less time on paperwork and more time working with the client. LawHelp Interactive also plays a huge role in providing training, support, and sharing of templates and best practices. This enables the creation and distribution of online forms and the sharing of expertise with less cost and effort.

"The five InnovAction judges were greatly impressed by the groundbreaking ideas in the submissions from law firms and companies in the United States and Canada," said Jordan Furlong, Partner with Edge International and Chair of the 2010 awards program.

The 2010 InnovAction Awards will be presented to Pro Bono Net on Saturday, October 23rd, at the 2010 Futures Conference & Symposium in Washington, DC.

Congratulations to the Pro Bono Net and LawHelp Interactive teams!!
