Philipps, a NACA founding member with over 25 years of experience in working with the FDCPA. A range of topics taken directly from his experience as founding and senior partner in his firm will include:
- obtaining referrals and working with co-counsel;
- debt consolidators, national law firms, and national client referral services;
- working with mentally and physically disabled clients;
- dealing with clients' internet "expertise"
- identifying "red flags" in clients you should not represent;
- representation agreements;
- determining whether a case should be filed as a class case or an individual case;
- Settlement Agreement and ethical issues in settlement;
- dealing with opposing counsel;
- ethical consideration of defendants' demands for confidentiality in settlement agreements.
