*Description: *The Small Area Fair Market Rent (SAFMR) Rule requires Public

Housing Agencies (PHAs) in 24 metro areas to replace FMRs with SAFMRs as
soon as possible but no later than April 1. SAFMRs will increase
opportunities for voucher families in high rent, low poverty neighborhoods
but local advocates must play a key role to protect the rights of
participant families particularly in zip codes where FMRs will decrease.
This webinar will (1) review the final rule (which also included changes to
how rents are determined in the voucher program generally) and (2) describe
how advocates can work with PHAs to implement SAFMR policies in a way that
expands housing choice and mobility while protecting voucher families from
potentially negative impacts.
