The Washington State Office of Administrative Hearings is holding hearings in Spanish, without an interpreter and with a bilingual Administrative Law Judge, to increase meaningful participation by the self-represented claimants in unemployment benefits appeals. After a two-year iterative project, results indicate positive customer feedback and sustainable language access benefits.
