Join PILnet on January 25th for a brown bag conversation with Wolfgang Kaleck, a human rights activist, best known as Edward Snowden’s lawyer, to discuss his new book Law Versus Power: Our Global Fight for Human Rights.

Kaleck has spent his career using the law to fight for those suffering injustices perpetrated by the powerful. He has taken on high profile cases, attempting to hold human rights abusers accountable, including the US military, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, transnational corporations, and Argentinian military officials. In 2007, he founded the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights and, along with his colleagues, has been honored with the Hans Litten Prize and the Hermann Kesten Prize for his work.

His new book brings to life the stories of those he has represented, highlighting their courage and persistence in fighting for justice, and echoing PILnet’s mission of empowering lawyers to advance social change and protecting the public interest around the world.
