The Thursday, January 23 session will provide an opportunity for attorneys new(er) to public interest to learn about DC's robust legal services community and improve their client-based skills. Topics will include an Introduction to Local Coalitions and Other Public Interest Entities; The Client Community: Poverty, Power, & Implicit Bias; Special Client Populations; Client Counseling, Communication & Empowerment; and Managing Client Expectations.

The Friday, January 24 session is intended for new or seasoned public interest attorneys who may be new to the DC legal community. It will promote an improved understanding of DC's unique judicial and legislative structure and provide practice tips from local experts. Topics will include introductions to the DC Government, DC Superior Court, and the Office of Administrative Hearings.

Registrants are welcome to attend one or both days. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please note that CLE credit will not be available and sessions will not be recorded or live-streamed.
