Join Neighborhood Legal Services Program at the Dorothy Height/ Benning Library for an open house and legal information workshop on October 23, 2017 from 3pm-5:30pm. NLSP regularly holds "Unlocking Employment" legal clinics at DC Public Library branches for jobseekers facing legal barriers to getting or keeping jobs. The open house will include a workshop regarding three recent DC laws that impact jobseekers with concerns about their credit or criminal history: The Fair Credit in Employment Act of 2016, the Fair Criminal Records Screening Act for Housing of 2016, and the Fair Criminal Records Screening Amendment Act of 2014 ("Ban the Box"). We will also provide information about opportunities for community members to volunteer with our organization as either community outreach volunteers or pro bono attorneys. Light refreshments will be served!
