Please join us for a stakeholder event hosted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Blue Campaign and the Council on Combating Violence Against Women. The Blue Campaign is the unified voice for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) efforts to combat human trafficking. Working in collaboration with law enforcement, government, non-governmental and private organizations, the Blue Campaign strives to protect the basic right of freedom and to bring those who exploit human lives to justice. On March 21, 2013, Secretary Napolitano announced the creation of the Council on Combating Violence Against Women in an effort to ensure the effective administration of laws preventing violence against women. The Council will also coordinate the Department-wide collaborative effort to combat violence against women. The Blue Campaign and the Council leadership will share information about the creation of the Council and its initial accomplishments, as well as the recent Blue Campaign re-launch and new public awareness materials. There will also be a listening session on issues related to the Department's ongoing efforts to prevent and combat human trafficking and violence against women.
