Child Custody Post-Sanchez: Current Issues and Trial Skills

In this Post-Sanchez legal environment, collaboration between family law attorneys and mental health professionals dealing with child custody has become vitally important.  As our Courts rely less and less on child custody evaluations, both practitioners and professionals need to find new ways to present custody issues to the Court, not only based on evidentiary requirements, but on innovative use of experts and creative solutions for our Courts to adopt.

The 2019 Child Custody Colloquium will address the most important issues in our field – domestic violence presumptions, children as witnesses, parental addiction, cultural and religious differences and special needs children.  The Colloquium will be a learning environment for the mental health professionals now testifying in court, and provide important courtroom skills and principles for attorneys who still dare to practice in this most important field.
