Utah Celebrates Pro Bono Speaker: Heather L. Thuet, Esq. is a skilled and experienced trial attorney who has tried cases to jury in federal court and in district courts across the state of Utah. She was born and raised in Salt Lake County. After obtaining a bachelor of science in business from the University of Utah, where she graduated cum laude, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah. Ms. Thuet was in the top 5% of her graduating law school class, earning her the prestigious distinction of Order of the Coif.
As a shareholder of Christensen & Jensen, a mid-sized law firm in Salt Lake, Ms. Thuet chairs the firm's Real Estate practice group. Her practice spans the areas of medical malpractice, commercial litigation, construction defect, insurance bad faith, and catastrophic personal injury. For the past nine years, she has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Salt Lake Justice Court. She is serving a second term as an elected Bar Commissioner representing the Third Division on the Utah State Bar Board of Bar Commissioners. Ms. Thuet is the former chair of the Utah State Bar's Litigation Section and served a four year term as a Commissioner on the Salt Lake City Historic Landmarks Commission protecting the city's heritage homes and historic structures.

Heather will speak about pro bono and access to justice in Utah. The Utah State Bar President-Herm Olsen will give the opening and closing remarks. Pro bono service awards will be handed out to Commissioner Catherine Conklin, volunteer attorneys, and law students.
