Description

Hosted by the Diversity Committee of the Family Law Section

This dynamic and interactive program will help attendees gain a comprehensive understanding of implicit bias in the law and learn how to identify implicit bias both within themselves and in others.

Attendees will learn strategies and action plans to use in order to best address internal and external (e.g., in one's workplace or in social settings) implicit biases. Using these strategies and action plans, panelists will offer guidance regarding how to combat the influence of implicit bias on decision-making. Additionally, the panelists will share their unique experiences and perspectives regarding implicit bias and lessons they have learned and advice for handling implicit bias. Attendees will also benefit from a judicial perspective regarding implicit bias and efforts made to address it in the courtroom.

Join your colleagues for an informative two-hour ethics presentation to hear how best to identify and handle implicit bias.
