4th Annual Civic Festival Celebrating Citizenship and Constitution Day

This free public festival hosted by the Study of Citizenship celebrates the signing of the US Constitution in 1787, and civic engagement. The theme this year is Community Engagement. The Henry Ford will bring artifacts and their curators to answer questions and discuss the artifacts' significance. Students will have opportunities to learn about campus civic engagement. Faculty and students of the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History will offer interactive art projects, and the League of Women Voters will be present to register new voters. Bridge Magazine is bringing their Truth Wagon, and Voters Not Politicians will be there to discuss the Anti-Gerrymandering Initiative. As a special event, the Center will be hosting a US Naturalization Ceremony from 2 to 3pm during the Festival. The
ceremony will be organized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Office. The Hon. Mark Goldsmith, Federal District Court Judge for the Eastern District will preside at the ceremony and will swear in those new citizens.
