This year, National Pro Bono Week will run from October 22nd through the 28th. VLSP is using this opportunity to recognize our volunteers and their motivation for so generously donating their time and skills through our programs assisting low income residents.

VLSPs clients and staff are so grateful for Rochesters legal community, and its commitment to pro bono advocacy. In 2016, VLSP was able to close over 1900 cases, and to refer another 337 to our pro bono roster. Our Help Centers served over 2800 unrepresented litigants seeking answers as they pursued justice, and another 240 were assisted through our clinics and other brief advice services.

VLSP will participate in celebrating National Pro Bono Week through social media, and hopes to have the participation of all of Rochesters legal community as well as anyone else interested in taking and displaying a photo.

From October 22nd through 28th, we will display on social media as many photos as we can get of local legal professionals pictured with a card that says, I Pro Bono To________.

On the cards blank line volunteers are welcome to fill in any word that summarizes why he or she donates their time through pro bono. We will be displaying the photos on our Facebook page.(https://www.facebook.com/vlsproc/)

We hope that these photos will not only demonstrate our appreciation, but will also inspire others to take on cases or volunteer through our short term opportunities.
