The McKinney-Vento Awards is an annual event hosted by the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty to recognize individuals or organizations that have advanced solutions to homelessness and poverty. These awards pay tribute to two outstanding national leaders, Stewart B. McKinney and Bruce F. Vento, who were primary sponsors of landmark legislation providing federal assistance to Americans experiencing homelessness. In 2017 we honor the 30th anniversary of the passage of the McKinney-Vento Homelessness Assistance Act.
