Online Legal Counseling

Every year, during the fourth week of October, attorneys come together to take a little time out to help those in need and learn more about pro bono opportunities.  And we at PBN are no exception!

Join us on Wednesday, October 25th when we work with Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO) to provide needed legal advice to low-income people throughout Illinois through their Legal Answers program.

Legal Answers is an online portal where lower income Illinois residents can post questions on a secure, confidential website that will be answered by a licensed attorney.  Then at their convenience, attorneys sign in and respond to questions they feel comfortable answering.  Lawyers are anonymous to clients and is covered under ILAO’s malpractice insurance.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?  •At the clinic, we will meet at 9:30 for a one-hour training session with ILAO to learn how to use the system and how to respond to the most common civil legal issues.
•Then after a break, we will sit down in front of a computer and work together to answer as many legal queries as we can.  We will have representatives from ILAO as well as some attorneys skilled in the areas of law in case any questions arise.

If you can make it, please RSVP so we can save you a seat!
