Representing Trauma Victims: Cultivating a Trauma-Informed Practice

Victims/survivors frequently have difficulty within the context of the civil legal justice system. Linda Douglas, Trauma Informed Services Specialist for the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, offers insight into how trauma impacts victims on a neurobiological, physical and emotional level. Learn how to view clients through a trauma lens to avoid re-victimization. Faculty will offer tips for lawyers working with clients when their actions are counterproductive. Furthermore, faculty will provide an overview of professional responsibility when a client’s behavior is adverse to advice provided.
