Celebrate Pro Bono Week! The Volunteer Attorney Program invites you to attend the CLE event, Criminalization of Poverty, on Thursday, October 27 at 5:00 p.m. at The Blind Pig in Duluth (formerly Tycoon's Alehouse). This will focus on the high price of being poor and ways lawyers can help low income clients find their way out of the criminalization trap.

Judge Jill Eichenwald will facilitate a discussion of local panelists, including former Chief Public Defender Fred Friedman, the executive director of SOAR Career Solutions Emily Edison and testimonials from community members. The discussion will begin with a recorded keynote address by Nusrat Choudhury, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union Racial Justice Project.

1.5 elimination of bias CLE credits will be applied for. The cost is $20.
Space is limited. Please RSVP by Friday, October 21st to Dori Streit at dori@volunteerattorney.org.
