As part of Pro Bono Week, PILI's Sixth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee is presenting a CLE on adult guardianships.
Representing Clients in Adult Guardianships
Guardianships provide important legal protections for the guardian and the adult disabled person. This is also an area of particular growth for the legal profession given the aging baby boomer population. This session will explore the process for obtaining an adult guardianship, including transitioning from minor to adult guardianships. You will also hear about the needs of low-income individuals in this area and how you can help them by providing pro bono legal assistance through Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation.
Speakers:
-Deborah Feinen, Tummelson Bryan & Knox LLP
-John Lafond, Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation
The program is complimentary, but attendees will be charged $16 for lunch, which can be paid by cash or a check made out to the Champaign County Bar Association. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. with the awards presentation at 11:45 and the program from noon to 1:00 p.m.
