Friday, October 23 - Saturday, October 24

Students attending the 2015 Conference and Career Fair are invited to participate in an exciting pro bono opportunity during the event hosted by members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, Casa de Maryland, Equal Justice Works, Laborers' International Union of North America, NALEO Educational Fund, and The New Americans Campaign as part of the ABA's National Celebration of Pro Bono Week!

Student volunteers will have the opportunity to work with experienced attorneys to assist members of the local community as they prepare to apply for citizenship.

On Friday, October 23, members of AILA will provide a training and answer questions to prepare student volunteers for the Citizenship Day which will be held on Saturday, October 24. The Friday training will be held at the Career Fair hotel, Crystal Gateway Marriott, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Student volunteers will be provided transportation from the Career Fair hotel to the Saturday Citizenship Day which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Falls Church Welcome Center.

To be eligible to participate, students must be registered for Conference and Career Fair and the pro bono project, and are required to attend the training on Friday, October 23 at 8:30 a.m. as well as the Citizenship Day on Saturday.

Student volunteer slots for the pro bono opportunity are limited. Student volunteers were confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can still sign up to be placed on a wait list as some spots may open up.
