In it's Fall Newsletter, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Charlotte Chapter, highlighted pro bono opportunities for attorneys licensed out-of-state.

Created in 2008, pro bono practice status permits attorneys who are licensed out of state to provide pro bono legal services to those in need in North Carolina. Retired, inactive North Carolina attorneys are eligible as well. Pro bono practice status, which is also available in 19 other states, allows attorneys interested in volunteering to do so without having to become active members of the North Carolina State Bar through comity or passage of the bar exam.
