Program:
Many low-income, disabled individuals are awaiting adjudication at Social Security and lack access to affordable medical care. Oftentimes, these individuals are eligible for Medicaid benefits when effectively represented at state administrative hearings. This CLE will educate and train attorneys and advocates on:

• How to appeal a county denial of Medicaid for low-income, disabled adults
• Legal standards of disability determinations for Medicaid eligibility
• State administrative hearing procedures
• How to implement or appeal a state hearing decision
