he SeniorLAW Center will present a pro bono training program on the Pennsylvania SeniorLAW HelpLine on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the PECO/Exelon Building, 2301 Market Street, Philadelphia.
SeniorLAW Center attorneys Wendy Bookler and Joanna Jarzebowska will be conducting this free training for  attorneys interested in providing legal counseling through the PA SeniorLAW HelpLine, a toll-free telephone service offering free, confidential legal advice, information and referrals to those 60 and older throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Volunteers can make HelpLine calls from their own offices at times which fit into their busy schedules. The course will focus on the most common areas of law about which callers are seeking information and the professional responsibility requirements of pro bono and telephone helpline service.
Attendees will learn also about the logistics of handling a HelpLine call and, once trained, will have access to resources to assist them in providing counseling and quality referrals over the telephone.
Lunch provided for those who register in advance.
