Navigating Ethical Issues in the Estate Planning Process
Meeting and representing clients to discuss estate planning and other end-of-life legal issues can involve a number of ethical considerations. When the estate planning process begins with a call from a potential client's spouse, partner, family member, or close friend, the attorney must first determine who the client is. Other crucial issues include client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, the client's mental capacity, undue influence, and the participation of family members or caregivers in the estate planning process. This training will offer legal and practical guidance for attorneys dealing with these ethical issues.
This training will be presented by Bill Ambrunn, Esq., Law Offices of Bill Ambrunn.
To RSVP, email trainingsvlsp@sfbar.org or call 415-782-9000 ext. 8651.
- CLE Credit Comments: 1.5 Ethics CLE Credits. This training is free. In exchange, attorneys are requested to join the ALRP Panel and accept two referrals in the next year.
