Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota to hold Deferred Action community meetings throughout Minnesota

The Obama Administration has enacted a policy of "deferred action" for young undocumented immigrants in the United States. Immigrants who arrived in the country before age 16 and who satisfy other requirements will be eligible for two years of employment authorization and protection from deportation under this policy. The Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM) is hosting the following community workshops for low-income immigrants who would like to file their applications with our office: On Saturday August 18, at the Green Central School in Minneapolis; On Saturday, August 25, at the West Learning Center in Worthington, MN; On Monday, August 27, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in St. Paul; On Tuesday, September 11, in Melrose, MN; On Wednesday, September 19, in Northfield, MN; In Willmar, MN (date to be determined); and In Marshall, MN (date to be determined). Depending on funding, ILCM hopes to create additional workshops. If you, or someone you know, would like to work with our office to file an application for deferred action, you MUST attend one of these meetings. No RSVP is necessary, and the meetings will be held in both Spanish and English. Click the link above to see ILCM's news alert. Visit ILCM's website for the most up-to-date information: www.ilcm.org
