UNHCR and the Immigrant Rights Clinic at Texas A&M University School of Law will be hosting a free webinar on representing LGBTI asylum-seekers and how to use international law to strengthen asylum claims in the U.S. Speakers on the webinar will discuss:
- UNHCR’s work on protection of LGBTI asylum-seekers and relevant international guidance on LGBTI asylum claims (Alice Farmer and Colleen Cowgill, UNHCR);
- Representing LGBTI asylum-seekers in U.S. proceedings- legal strategies for common claims and how to prepare the argument (Fatma Marouf, Director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic at Texas A&M University School of Law).
