Before you take the plunge into the world of mobile access, you should think through what content you want to have on your mobile site. Thinking of your mobile site as its own website, with its own content development plan, will help you with the initial structure of your site, and will help you maintain the site in a coherent and focused way in the future. Once you've decided that you're ready to create your site, you may be surprised at just how easy the setup can be. There are basically three steps to creating your own mobile LawHelp site:

• Setting up your preferences with LawHelp;
• Tagging your content;
• Using the mobile content manager.

When you have set your site preferences, Pro Bono Net will provision a shell site based on the information you provide. The subsequent process is all about tagging resources. The mobile site is populated by content you have tagged to appear on your site. You will choose two or three tagging channels, and apply those tags to the information you wish to appear on your mobile site. Every record (resource or organization) you want to have appear on your mobile site needs to be labelled with the tag type "Mobile" and a tag within that tag type that corresponds to one of your channels. Once you apply those tags to your content, the mobile platform will pull in that information to your shell site, allowing the mobile user to access it on their phones or other mobile devices.

Most of the time you will spend on this project is determining what materials to tag, and whether you want those materials to appear 'as is' or if they must be rewritten for your site.
