Legal Access Alameda

Legal Access Alameda (formerly VLSC), the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association, provides free legal assistance to low-income self-represented litigants in Alameda County in select areas of civil law. Legal Access provides opportunities for members of the California bar to participate in pro bono work through pro per assistance clinics where volunteer attorneys assist clients with document preparation and provide clients with legal education.

Legal Access has over 30 legal clinics each month in various areas of law, including: family law, bankruptcy, domestic violence restraining orders, guardianship, and low-income landlord evictions, as well as a monthly Saturday drop-in legal advice and referral clinic in most areas of law
