OutFront Minnesota

OutFront Minnesota is a statewide nonprofit agency serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities of Minnesota. The mission of the agency is to create a state where LGBTQ people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment, or discrimination. We envision a state where LGBTQ individuals have equal opportunities, protection, and rights. We are working toward the day when all Minnesotans have the freedom, power, and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives. We do this through direct advocacy, systems change, and public policy work. The agency provides direct advocacy in three primary areas: general legal, anti-violence, and domestic violence. The legal program was established for the purpose of providing legal education, information, support, and assistance regarding legal issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity to individuals, businesses, and government agencies and programs. The legal program works closely with the Anti-Violence, Domestic Violence and Public Policy programs of OutFront Minnesota. Nonlitigation volunteer opportunities for attorneys and law students are available in the following areas: legal research and writing; legislation drafting; community education; and civil and human rights issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity. Appellate and Amicus opportunities are also available. To give community and CLE presentations, attorneys must be licensed in Minnesota.
