JASA Legal Services for Elder Justice

Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens provides civil legal services to needy older adult residents of Queens. Volunteer lawyers are needed in the areas of real estate, matrimonial, bankruptcy and civil litigation. Volunteer attorneys should have civil legal experience. Knowledge of Spanish or Mandarin is desirable, though not necessary, as is familiarity with landlord-tenant law and/or government benefit programs. Volunteer attorneys are closely supervised. Training and payment for work-related travel expenses are provided. Malpractice insurance covers volunteer lawyers.
