Mitchell Hamline Self-Help Clinic

The Mitchell Hamline Self-Help Clinic is a free legal clinic designed to help people feel more comfortable representing themselves in court. It is managed and directed by Mitchell Hamline School of Law students with the support of volunteer attorneys and the Minnesota Justice Foundation's Mitchell Hamline student chapter. We opened our doors for the first time in the fall of 2009 and helped more than 90 pro se litigants. While we cannot represent anyone in court, we can help pro se litigants navigate the court processes and fill out all of the forms in the following areas:

  • Dissolution,

  • Child support modification,

  • Parenting Time Issues,

  • Criminal expungement.

Each week we have a team of trained students and volunteer attorneys specializing in these areas to assist patrons with these legal issues.

We're open every Saturday during the Fall and Spring Semesters and select Saturdays during the summer. We recommend that patrons make an appointment by calling our phone number at (651) 695-7609.
