Community Legal Center

The CLC has helped thousands of Memphians with civil cases, including family law matters, landlord-tenant disputes, consumer law cases, estate and probate issues, elder law, and immigration. In 2009 alone, the CLC fielded more than 5,000 calls, met with 143 clients at bi-monthly clinics, and formally represented 400 Memphians with legal problems.

The CLC does not handle criminal matters, bankruptcy, worker's compensation, personal injury cases or any other matters that generate attorneys' fees.

The Community Legal Center maintains a list of more than 300 local attorneys who have volunteered to take pro bono cases.
