Corporate & Law Firm Pro Bono Projects

Legal Aid has several Corporate & Law Firm Pro Bono Projects..

These partnership projects have developed around training in one specific area in the law and have developed as corporate and firm lawyers discover the rewarding experience of helping someone who would otherwise go to court without representation.

Legal Aid provides training and mentoring in poverty law issues and can tailor a project to suit the needs and interests of the volunteer lawyers.

Projects currently in place:

  • In 2007, The Williams Companies & Hall Estill developed a partnership with Legal Aid around helping senior citizens with the preparation of wills and other life planning documents. The project grew to include guardianship ad litem representation, eviction defense, garnishment proceedings, and other poverty law issues.
  • In 2009, Devon Energy & McAfee Taft developed a similar partnership with Legal Aid.
  • In 2009, GableGotwals began working with our Medical-Legal Partnership for Children at OU-Tulsa Schusterman Pediatric Clinic. This project includes assisting grandparents and other relatives in child guardianship proceedings.
