OKC: Protective Order (VPO) Clinic

The Protective Order Clinic is held during every VPO docket at the Oklahoma County Courthouse.

VPO Clinic hours are:
Monday and Friday beginning at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

With the cooperation of the Oklahoma County Judges and Law Library staff, Legal Aid has been assigned an office in the Oklahoma County library for this project, where they accept applications for representation.

Cases may be rejected, accepted for legal advice or accepted for full representation for the protective order hearing.

If a case is accepted for representation, the client is required to sign an agreement providing that representation is only for the hearing on that day.

The Court occasionally requests that we interview and advise petitioners who appear in court to request that their VPO be dismissed.

Volunteer Profile:
Seeking volunteer lawyers to assist with non-represented or self-represented litigants in hearings on the final Order of a VPO and to provide advise and counsel at the VPO Clinic at the Oklahoma County District Court.
