What is LiveHelp? Online chat! Click on the button on our web page.  A LiveHelp volunteer will help you find legal information, forms or resources.  It is a new tool that helps bridge the access to justice gap for low to moderate income individuals and seniors.

LiveHelp provides virtual, live assistance for online visitors looking for free legal resources.   Our volunteer navigator’s help visitors find legal information and referrals to legal help or guides them in using online forms.

Visitors start by going to our website www.legalaidok.org.  Click on “Free Legal Resources” then look for the LiveHelp button. A LiveHelp volunteer will respond to your request for a chat.   The question is sent immediately to the volunteer and the volunteer  will work with you to find the information or resources you need.

We cannot provide legal advice online, but we’ll do our very best to get you started and the information you need.

So, what type of questions can our volunteers help with?  Our Free Legal Resources website has information about common civil legal problems, such as divorce, identity theft, landlord and tenant problems, and disability benefits.  We don’t have information about criminal problems but can help you with the form to ask a judge to appoint a Public Defender for EITHER a Civil or Criminal case.

Are you age 60 or older? Legal Aid has a special program to help Seniors with legal advice and information called OKSPLASH.    If you’re 60 or older or need help assisting someone age 60 or older, start by asking a LiveHelp volunteer for information and ask to have a lawyer follow up with information or advice.  Find LiveHelp for Seniors on our Senior Legal Help page here: http://www.legalaidok.org/senior-legal-help

LiveHelp question and answer sessions are absolutely free! Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and a grant from the Legal Services Corporation provide LiveHelp as a service to our website visitors.
