New Private Attorney Involvement Materials from Legal Services Corporation

The Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) section of Legal Services Corporation's Resource Information website now includes planning guidance and a selection of recently adopted plans from LSC grantees. The plans demonstrate a range of delivery models for urban and rural service areas, including recruiting volunteers from law firms to assist with program management and effectively using technology in all aspects of pro bono delivery and support.

Another new addition to the Private Attorney Involvement resources is a Pro Bono Care Kit created by the State Bar of Texas. This kit was created to support local bar associations interested in holding civil legal services clinics.  The kit includes a recruiting video as well as materials to organize and publicize a clinic.

The recruiting video explains the legal clinic process from several perspectives, including a lawyer, client, and non-lawyer volunteer, to encourage participation. Other supporting documents include FAQs and tips for organizing a clinic, as well as sample promotional materials, documents to help organize volunteers, and legal information resources.

The LSC Resource Information website (LRI) facilitates the sharing of innovative projects and best-practice materials with the legal aid community. It is a great resourse and provides useful information about a variety of topics and programs from around the county.
