Oklahoma Attorney General Scott PruittLegal Aid Services of Oklahoma (LASO) kicked off the 2013 Campaign for Justice last evening with a gathering at the offices of Hall Estill, a statewide law firm headquartered in Tulsa.

LASO Board President Bruce Frazier and many members of the Campaign Team were present in support of this event. Many thanks to each of our OKC and Tulsa Team members without whose dedication to LASO, the Campaign would not even be possible.  A list of team members can be accessed here http://is.gd/kgCUI9 .

Also in attendance were Hall Estill associates who are encouraged by their law firm to volunteer their time on pro bono cases as a learning tool.  Their associates are eager to help LASO in any way possible and appreciate our mission as much as we appreciate their commitment to serve.  Hall Estill encouraged the Campaign by announcing a $15,000 gift to the Campaign.

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt reminded attendees of the responsibility we all share in making equal access to justice for each of our citizens a priority.  As the Statewide Chair of the Campaign for Justice, Attorney General Pruitt noted that supporting Legal Aid, and the many benefits the organization  presence in our community provides, is a wise investment in the future of our state.  He thanked Tulsa Campaign Chair Judge Joseph Morris of GableGotwals for his leadership.

Attorney General Pruitt has challenged the Tulsa legal community to raise $150,000 to support LASO services in 2013.   The ambitious state-wide goal set by Attorney General Pruitt is $1,000,000.

Kick Off events scheduled in Oklahoma City were postponed due to the tragic tornadoes in central Oklahoma.
