Oklahoma City University School of Law Public Interest Career Fair

Plans are in the works now for the annual spring OCU LAW Government, Pro Bono and Public Interest Law Career Fair.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011
3:30 to 5:30 pm
Sarkeys Law Center
Oklahoma City University School of Law

The purpose of this career fair is to educate students about the role lawyers play in meeting critical public service needs within their communities, and to allow government organizations to highlight the services they provide in the community.   In addition, we wish to inculcate the idea of pro bono service by encouraging students to volunteer while they are in law school and after graduation.

To aid in this effort, we will again encourage students to secure placements with organizations such as yours to be eligible for a Dean's Summer Pro Bono and Public Interest Law Fellowship.

The format for the career fair will include information tables in the common area of the Sarkeys Law Center, where representatives can offer materials and advice on becoming connected with their agencies. Many organizations have found that sending two representatives works well and allows them to interact with and answer questions from interested students. Light refreshments will be offered.
