Thursday September 22
2016

Through the decades, Africa has presented particularly difficult development challenges. While the continent is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, it has, at the same time, been plagued by poor governance, corruption, and conflict. The recently adopted United Nations Sustainable Development Goals directly address the importance of this fundamental relationship between governance and development through Goal 16, which sets forth several targets related to good governance, rule of law, anticorruption, access to justice, etc.

Ndaba Mandela, grandson of Nobel laureate Nelson Mandela and Chairman of the nongovernmental organization, Africa Rising, brings to this struggle for sustainable development in Africa unique assets and a singular perspective. Join Mr. Mandela and other experts for a conversation regarding implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals—and specifically Goal 16—in the African context.
