"Calling All Immigration Lawyers, Calling All Immigration Lawyers, be on the lookout for suspicious looking Immigration Reform!" 2013 started with a lot of excitement and focus on Comprehensive Immigration Reform, and now after an endorsement by the President and an approved bill from the Senate, there is a good chance that the hopes and dreams of millions may fall flat on the House ears…or will it? Attend the 16th Annual AILA New York Chapter Immigration Law Symposium to see what the experts have to say about developments on CIR, as well as what the future holds if CIR is a reality. But, it will also be an informative and fun filled day of discussions on all the latest developments and best practices in immigration law today. Come listen to the who's who in the immigration bar in this one-day conference. The event will be broken up into two sections. The morning program will feature an update on Hot Topics like legislation and policies relevant to DOMA and DACA, as well as a government panel with many of the NY office representatives. The afternoon program has two tracks: business and removal/family. Listen to the experts discuss and analyze the areas of business immigration such as: I-9 Compliance, NIV Options for Entrepreneurs, PERM and Non-PERM Permanent Resident Routes, and of course the all magnificent EB-5 Investor Category. For our removal/family practice savvy practitioners we will be covering issues such as: Best Practices in Immigration Court, Stateside I-601A Waivers, Ethical Considerations and Pitfalls, Advanced Issues with Adjustments of Status and Naturalization, and Invaluable Wisdom on Law Practice Management.
