Child Custody and Visitation CLE Training

Topics:
  • Family/DV

Attorneys will be trained to represent Her Justice-referred clients in child custody and visitation matters in Family Court. Procedural and substantive aspects will be discussed in detail, as well as tips on how to represent and advise victims of domestic violence. Training manuals and sample documents will be provided.

A case with child custody/visitation issues will be assigned at the training or shortly thereafter. Attorneys can work on the case individually or as part of a team of two or more attorneys. Custody and visitation matters assigned after the training may involve an accompanying order of protection (family offense) case. In such cases, Her Justice will provide the volunteer attorney with a training video and manual on litigating orders of protection in the Family Court.

The assigned pro bono case will require at least one court appearance. Attorneys are expected to commit to taking a case pro bono either individually or as part of a team of two or more attorneys.

Please note that this training is open only to attorneys from major law firms.
