This basic Public Assistance training will cover eligibility rules for New York State's cash assistance programs-federally funded Family Assistance and state funded Safety Net Assistance (including non-financial eligibility rules such as immigrant eligibility, child support enforcement, and work requirements). This training will discuss the basic Public Assistance grant as well as specials grants (such as immediate needs grants, rent subsidies and "one-shot deals" to pay rent or utility arrears). We will also cover financial eligibility rules and basic budgeting scenarios.
