Are you aware that the Department of State is a valuable resource for preventing and remedying international abduction cases? This training is designed to familiarize advocates with the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction (Hague Convention) and the role of the State Department as U.S. Central Authority for the Hague Convention. It will also cover the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA), which applies in interstate and international custody cases, and the Uniform Child Abduction Prevention Act, which identifies abduction risk factors and numerous prevention measures.
