Members of Louisiana's legal community know from experience how devastating and disruptive a hurricane can be - and how much hope even the simplest act of kindness can provide. In response to Hurricane Sandy, the Louisiana State Bar Association has reached out to the legal communities in the affected areas. Many of these legal communities offered us financial and other forms of assistance following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We have a tremendous opportunity now to pay back those acts of kindness.

The Louisiana State Bar Association, with assistance from Acadiana Legal Services Corp. and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, is coordinating a free webinar, "FEMA Assistance and Appeals," from 1-2 p.m. (CST) this Friday, Nov. 16. The webinar offers training to attorney volunteers providing legal assistance to Sandy survivors.

Anyone interested in the webinar may reserve a seat at: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/358362990, or email Jonathan M. Rhodes, jonathan.rhodes@lsba.org.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Webinar.
