The Southern District of New York is pleased to offer a full-day Trial Advocacy Training for Pro Bono Lawyers. This training, conducted by district judges of the Southern District and leading practitioners, is offered to lawyers admitted to practice in the Southern District and who are interested in providing pro bono representation to pro se litigants. The training will be intensive and skills-oriented and will follow the course of a trial from opening to closing statements. Lawyers will share their experience on how to try a case successfully, and judges will offer insight into which tactics and techniques work and which do not. Important materials for the training will be posted on the Court's website no later than Friday, January 14.

The training is free and offers 5 Skills Credits.* It is intended for newly-admitted and experienced lawyers who are admitted to the Southern District of New York. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

By attending this training, the court requests your commitment to represent a pro se litigant in this Court within the next 12 months.
