This training, co-sponsored by LSNY Legal Support Unit and Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS), is designed for all tenant advocates, as well as for volunteer attorneys who will assist homebound seniors to obtain repairs through HP proceedings in Manhattan Housing Court. The training will provide an overview of the law regarding HP actions; a step-by-step guide to commencing HP actions in court; and an extensive discussion about enforcing orders to correct, including contempt and civil penalties.
